Ethiopian Yirgacheffe
The Birthplace of Coffee!

Ethiopian Coffee Wild Arabica trees native to this rugged land date back 1,300 years. Much of the coffee crop is still gathered by hand, as has always been, from coffee trees growing wild amidst the tropical rain forests at altitudes of 5,000 to 6,000 feet. In addition, negligible use of chemicals and fertilizers establish Ethiopian coffees as biologically pure and free from chemical residues.

The most famous of Ethiopia's coffees is "Yirgacheffe", grown in the area around the town of Yrga Cheffe, near Lake Abaya, in the Sidamo district south of the capital of Addis Ababa. Coffees from the Yirgacheffe growing region are the most distinctive in the world characterized by a a thick rich body, a winy acidity and an intense floral aroma of cinnamon and sweet strawberries.
