The first coffee trees were brought to the Hawaiian Islands by a British warship in 1825. The governor of Oahu then, had acquired the coffee trees in Brazil. The coffee was planted in the Monoa Valley on Oahu and from there introduced to the other islands.

Maui Kaanapali coffee is grown in soil that is deep and red, supplemented with abundant tropical rainfall. The largest Maui coffee orchard is located high above the beaches of Kaanapali, on the West Maui Mountains slopes.

This truly distinct coffee has been planted on converted sugar cane lands with an emphasis on state of the art cultivating methods, including diligent nursery, planting, crop maintenance, mechanical harvesting, and processing.

RONA is proud to offer a limited supply in Peaberry which is simply the most exotic form to purchase this coffee. This full bodied coffee is perfectly clean with a sweet, cocoa-like flavor and a delicate acidity nicely balanced between sweet and dry tones and an ultra smooth finish.
