Welcome to Tanzania - The Land of Kilimanjaro home to some of the world's finest coffees.
Tanzania is endowed with rich historical natural habit. These include: the famous Mount Kilimanjaro, the Serengeti plains, the Rift Valley, and the Great lakes of Victoria, Tanganyika and Nyasa. The rich Volcanic soil of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain, and of Mount Meru in North of the country and the fertile Southern Highland regions provide ideal growing conditions for wet-processed "mild" arabica which Tanzania produces annually.
Tanzania continues to encourage high quality coffee production, to guarantee both high farmer earnings and a top quality cup to the consumer. Production, which is highly small holder, is some 50,000 metric tons annually.
Tanzanian coffee is somewhat similar to its Kenyan neighbor, and are said to share the same sharp and winy acidity as African and Arabian coffees. In general, a good Tanzanian coffee will have bright acidity and strong flavor.
